Feature: I replaced Ford BlueCruise with a Comma 4 and I’m never going back

It’ll never be FSD, but it’s good enough for me

I recently installed a Comma 4 in my Ford F-150 Lightning. It’s a dashcam-like device that provides the truck with driver assistance commands for tasks like lane centering and changing lanes. In other words, it bypasses Ford BlueCruise — a $500 a year subscription, with a $1,000 device. And it works everywhere, not just on mapped highways.

Since writing this story for TechRadar, I’ve added another 500+ miles driven and, yea, I’m sold. Click on the card below to read the story.

I vibecoded a web app this weekend that broke down how much of my time behind the wheel was with Comma in control versus me driving. Since installing Comma, I’m right at 90%. Yes, it’s that good.

It’s not for everyone — you need to have some patience with the install, and with tweaking settings to dial it in.
