Writing my way through rehab
Writing is up, pizza is down.

Happy Friday!
In my last newsletter, I asked you all what your definition of success was. I had a few people reply (thank you to those who did!) and the answers ranged from being happy to spending time with family – all of which I agree with.
I've thought a lot about this question for several years and my answer always changes — but right now, I think my definition of success is feeling content. Instead of constantly chasing what's next, being able to sit still and be content with life.
Next question for the hive mind:
If you could wake up tomorrow and completely change careers, what would you be doing and why?

You are Enough
Last week, I discovered Enough. It's a relatively new organization, founded by Blake Mycoskie, after he sold Toms and struggled with his mental health for years. As I listened to him tell his story on the Alive with Steve Burns podcast, I immediately went to Enough's website and purchased a pair of bracelets. One for me, and one for me to give to someone.
It's a simple, but powerful, message and nice to have a reminder that you're enough with you at all times. I wrote about why I found Mycoskie's story so inspiring.

All's been a bit quieter on the personal blog front over the last few weeks, but for good reason. I haven't stopped writing — the exact opposite, in fact. I've started writing more for various publications. I've started writing weekly features for TechRadar. Topics will range from opining about trending news to doing a mini-reviews of various products, and who knows what else.
Tom's Guide has given me more work, as well. I just finished up a review of the Tapo C675D Kit that should go live in the coming days, and have a few more gadgets inbound that I'll be reviewing in due time. I have a few other projects in the works with them, as well.
Last but not least, I've signed on to start writing tested buying guides for The Strategist. Working on tested buying guides is a ton of fun, but also a ton of work. It involves calling in samples for all the products involved, developing and implementing testing criteria, and then writing up those findings with product recommendations. I'm still a few weeks away from having something published, but let's just say my office is currently overrun with Wi-Fi systems.
It's fair to say, this part time freelance writing experiment is a success so far. Let's keep that momentum rolling.
My recent work:
Eero Signal saves the day: Eero sent me its new cellular backup device that plugs directly into your Eero mesh Wi-Fi system, and when your internet provider has an outage, it immediately kicks in and ensures you don't have any downtime. I wrote up my thoughts after using it for a while for TechRadar.
Tips for charging an EV during a heatwave: My wife and I have owned an EV for nearly 7 years now (two Tesla Model 3s, a Rivian R1S and a Ford Lightning). We've had two EVs for the last three. We, of course, charge at home. It's part of what makes owning an EV so appealing. However, charging during the warmer months of the year comes with some caveats and best practices. I wrote about said practices for Tom's Guide.
Pizza
I'll admit, I've been struggling for the last few weeks while rehabbing my shoulder with Sips & Pies on pause. I just feel so disconnected from the idea, my dream, my goals — the business as a whole. It's been rough. I hate feeling like this.
I need to get back into a routine of regularly making pizza and experimenting with recipes. It's hard, though, when I feel so discouraged about where I'm at. I know I just have to force myself, and good vibes will follow.
On a more positive note, remember a while back when I posted unboxing pics of the Gozney Arc Lite? This week, TechRadar let me write up my thoughts about the oven. In short: it's the best pizza oven for beginners.
That's it for now. More to come!
I appreciate you,
Jason
